Beevers gives boost ahead of 2nd leg

Lee Beevers has given the club a huge boost by signing a new 2 year contract with the Imps, ending speculation that he was set to join a host of former Imps at Peterborough United. The Player-of-the-Season winner had been linked with a move to 'Boro in recent weeks but has thankfully agreed to stay at Sincil Bank for the next 2 years.

Beevers signed from Boston United in February 2005, just a few short days after the Imps had beaten the Pilgrim's 2-1 at York Street. His first team appearances were scattered and he never really established himself in the first team until this season when John's Schofield and Deehan took over. Since then his passion for the game and grit and determination have won over some of his previous critics and saw him win Player-of-the-Season this year. He is also currently winning the "Player of the Season" category in this website's end of season awards.

It is a massive boost for the club to get Beevers on board for the next 2 years and shows that the club is going in a positive direction. Hopefully Lee will be able to inspire the Imps onto Wembley tonight against Bristol Rovers.
