Quintet on their way out.

Martin Gritton, Simon Raynor, Leon Mettam, Andy Toyne and Tom Wilkinson have all palyed their final games for the club and have been released on Monday afternoon. None of the players have ever been able to hold down (or even gain) a regular first team place and it is likely that at least 4 will not sign for clubs in the Football League.

Martin Gritton is the most noteable of the players leaving, having played in both of the recent playoff games against Bristol Rovers. They were two of just 30 appearances that he made for Lincoln City, 20 of which came from the bench. His scoring record was also relatively poor, scoring just 3 goals in his time with Lincoln City, only one of those coming at Sincil Bank.

Simon Raynor only ever played 5 competitive games for the Imps in his 3 seasons here, only one of which came when Marriott wasn't either injured or suspended and it is hardly a surprise to see him leave Sincil Bank. His likely destinations are either Torquay United, or Shrewsbury Town who have expressed an interested.

The other 3 were first year pros, Mettam with the most appearances whilst Tom Wilkinson's only ever league appearance came in the 1-0 defeat at Carlisle in the 2005/6 season, not touching the ball for 31 minutes after coming on as a sub.
