Frecklington signs new 2 year contract extension

Lincoln City have tied Lee Frecklington down to an extended contract that will now keep him at Sincil Bank until the summer of 2011. This is very welcome news to Imps fans. Freck is arguably the Imps most valuable player and has been valued at a 6 figure sum believed to be in the region of at least £400,000. He is current nursing an injury sustained at Accrington.

Freck is arguably the most skillful player to come from the youth team since Darren Huckerby back in the 90s. He was also the first to establish himself in the youth team since Paul Mayo in the 99/2000 season.

He has impressed virtually everyone at Sincil Bank and has seen many admirers from outside of Lincolnshire's boundaries. City rejected two big money bids for Freck in January from Peterborough. When Freck declared that Peterborough would be a sideways step, Darren Ferguson threw his dummy out and acted like a big baby slatting Freck's ambition.

The new deal means that he will be at Sincil Bank until the summer of 2011, unless the anticipated move to a bigger club comes into play.
