Reaction to Phil Watt's 2007/8

Phil Watt was yet another youth player who made his first 1st team start during the 2007/8 season. The defender was involved in the first thrashing of the season and that was his one and only start in a Lincoln City shirt. He was released during the season.

I think it's safe to say that Phil Watt won't go down as one of the youth system's finest products. He wasn't awful but he did look a bit out of his depth and it was hardly a surprise that he only played two games during the season.
He was one of the central defenders in that mauling by Shrewsbury, it's hardly surprising that we conceded four when one of our two defenders was a youth team player in his first game and the other is Nat Brown. That's just asking for trouble.
I wasn't overly surprised that Watt was released and I think he'll struggle to make another appearance in the Football League.
