Reaction to Danny Hone's 2007/8

Hone was the first youngster to make a shock appearance in the first team during the season. He has impressed many during the season and he has arguably been the best player to come through the system during the season. It comes as little surprise that he is being linked with moves to several huge sides, such as Aston Villa and Charlton.

Danny Hone's first season as a first teamer impressed many. He seemed to be the only central defender who was able to keep a cool head at times and his performances highlighted the flaws of other defenders.
To play 13 full games in a row in your first full season as a professional is certainly a great achievement, especially when he must have thought that he probably never thought that he would get a look in this season.
I think that he will be one of the survivors of Jackson's re-shuffle of the defence, assuming of course that he is still here next season.

I base my opinion of Hone on the one performance I have seen. My opinion is that he is poor and that he will never get anywhere. Just didn't look like he had the instincts of a defender to me. I will be very happy if he proves me wrong.

Japan clearly states that his opinion is based on one game. You have to start to formulate an opinion somewhere. He also states that he will be happy to be proved wrong.
And let's be honest, it would not be the first time that somebody on here has based their opinion on limited evidence and had the arrogance to pass it off as fact.

I think you were defending me there Markus... but just to make sure I'll confirm that I wasn't passing anything off as fact. Far from it, I gave my subjective view.
And yeah, Born_To_Do_Dishes, given that I've only seen him play the once, do you propose a better way for me to form an opinion than by basing it on that one game?

Japan...from time to time you read the oddest and most nonsensical posts on message boards...you have taken the biscuit with this one.
Given that no one can tell how good or bad this young fella is by watching him play one game(especialy as he's only 18 FFS), your post is in itself utterly irrelevant.
What the @#$%& then was the point in posting it in the first place, I assume it's just because you like the sound of your own silly voice...what a dimwit.
YOU CAN'T HAVE AN OPINION ON ONE GAME....so what's the point of trying to think you can possibly already have one and unjustly end up rubbishing a young lad trying to make his way in the world.
Obviously he's been noticed by folk with far more knowledge in this field than you (or I come to that), but of course, on just one viewing you know better than them.

I think you're being a bit harsh on Japan to be honest. Afterall, virtually everyone's opinion on Fiston Manuella after one game that he was crap.
It is possible to have an opinion based on one game, granted it's not a wide open opinion but it's still an opinion.

My opinion of Hone is living up to his Dads name and he looks like he has excellent potential, maybe a captain status in a few years, i think he'll be like last years Lee Beevers, I rate Beevers as a higher potential than Hone as well, he hasn't showed in near the end of this season though

The criticism of Japan's opinion is crazy. I rate Hone (but not as much as some people do). But after his first ever game pretty much everyone on here said "he looks like a fantastic player". So how is Japan's one game opinion any different to that?
