Volleys, chips and hammers...Part 2

City have scored some good goals in the last 5 years, we now look at the goals you voted as the 11th-15th best. Richard Butcher features twice, Mark Stallard scores a stunner, Freck sends in a beauty and Jamie Forrester scores one of his four goals agains Mansfield.
GOAL 15
Richard Butcher vs York City - 2003/4 Season
Every now and then you hear the phrase "If that was scored in the Premiership then they'd be ravin about it for weeks" and this was a shining example. Roy Keane scored an identical striker to this for Manchester United and it was praised as a sign of class, and that would also certainly apply to this strike from Butcher.
City hadn't won up until this game and were ahead thanks to a Gary Fletcher strike when Butcher capitalised on slack defending and stole the ball off of a York defender. He hit it first time and the ball sailed across goal and by Ovendale into the next. City went on to win the game 3-0.
GOAL 14
Jamie Forrester's 2nd vs Mansfield Town - 2006/7 Season
I've never personally seen us lose at Mansfield Town, I have seen us played there 6 times, winning four and drawing the other two. The penultimate victory came just under 2 years ago when the Imps travelled there just before the end of August.
Jamie Forrester had already given City a lead via the penalty spot and midway through the first half saw Forrester have the ball just inside the area but at an extremely narrow angle with his back to goal. With a Mansfield defender harrowing him it seemed impossible for Forrester to score. Then, out of nowhere, Forrester smashed the ball and it curled into the top corner of the net and established a 2-0 lead for the Imps.
City went on to win that game 4-2 and it was one of our best performances in the early part of last season.
GOAL 13
Mark Stallard's 2nd vs Wycombe Wanderers - 2006/7 Season
City had started the game against Wycombe quite badly, falling behind after less than 10 minutes to a Mooney strike. Freck had given City an undeserved equaliser before Mark Stallard had put City ahead early on in the second half. City were in the driving seat and confirmed victory late on in the half.
A ball into the box went over everyone except for Stallard, the striker then tipped the ball up for himself and sent a beautiful half volley sailing over everyone and into the net.
GOAL 12
Lee Frecklington vs MK Dons - 2006/7 Season
Previously unbeaten City were 2-0 down at home to MK Dons and playing fairly badly to say the least. In all honesty the Imps were lucky to only be 2-0 down. It was approaching half time when Lee Frecklington won the ball about 25/30 yards out. He burst forward and hit a beautiful left foot shot towards goal and no goalkeeper in the world could have stopped that effort.
GOAL 11
Richard Butcher vs Leyton Orient - 2005/6 Season
Richard Butcher had returned to the Imps on loan from Oldham Athletic. He hadn't really had the best of starts to his second stint at City before we headed to Leyton Orient.
Gary Alexander had given the hosts the lead early on and could have easily been three or four up before City finally managed a shot on target. That shot arguably turned into a goal due to it appearing to cross the line but it didn't appear to be City's day.
However, midway through the second half and the Imps were dominating, Keates sent in a cross and it was punched out to Butcher. He, much like the Stallard effort mentioned earlier, chipped it up for himself and sent a volley curling around the numerous defenders and into the net.
The Imps went on to dominate but failed to get the winning goal.
