Jackson set to equal Schofield

Saturday's match against Bury will officially be the game where you can measure Jackson against John Schofield as both will have managed 57 games for Lincoln at this point. Currently both share the same amount of wins and defeats, only seperated by a draw that has come from Schofield's additional game.
In 57 games as City's management partnership, John Schofield and John Deehan managed 23 wins, 13 draws and 21 defeats. That translates as 41.18% of games won, 22.81% of games drawn and 21 defeats 36.84%.
Jackson has managed the Imps for 56 games and also has 23 wins and 21 defeats, meaning 12 draws. This means that if the Imps do lose to Bury then Peter Jackson officially has a worse record than Schofield and Deehan. A draw would equal whereas a win would move him two points ahead of the pair.
Mainly people will cite that Jackson didn't inherite a squad that had just made the Playoffs, but a lot of the players he did inherite were still part of the Playoff squad of 2006/7, most of whom were players that Schofield brought in, such as Mark Stallard, Paul Green, Dany N'Guessan and several others.

The footie under Schoey was 10 times more attractive, but some of those defeats were much more emphatic ...... err, hang on, The Cods have just stuffed us havn't they?

The thing is, Schoey started off fantastically and tailed off to rubbish.
Jacko is rubbish one week, next week very good.

Does this include the time when Iffy was in charge ??? How good was Jackos stats when we had Macdonald with him to when we have had iffy with him ???

That only includes the games that Jackson has managed. So in other words Chester on 2.11.2007-Wycombe Wanderers on 1.3.2008 and Rotherham this season onwards.
I'd tend to agree that McDonald had a big influence on us staying us last season. He left on February 7th, two games into that five game winning run and we certainly stopped playing as well after that.

We need more performamces like Tuesday and lot less like the Rovram game and heaven forbid the cods game! I expect us to get 10 points this season its progress but not the kind we were promised.

Agree with you Posh - very little (if any) progress since the Keith years. The first half of 06/07 under Schoey was special and I will never forget my brother calling me in London to say that we had won 7-1 against Rochdale, a week after seeing us batter Barnet 5-0 - I really thought we were going to walk away with the league at that point. What a pity that Schoey's Yorkshire stubborness meant that he played a right-footed and inexperienced left-back ahead of Mayo, and perservered with Amoo when it was clear he had run out of steam - not to mention the bizarre and frankly appalling substitution of Stallard in the Play-offs. He well and truly destroyed the following season with uninspiring signings, particularly Torpey who was way past being an effective league player.

We are still recovering from Schofield and Deehan's mess, progress takes time - and ok this time next year and we are no better off then yeah, let's review things. We aren't as bad as some people have made out, as our position has clearly shown - we have a decent nucleus that with one or two quality additions we can mount a decent challenge next season.

Trouble is with Freck gone (will O'Connor drop down?) I doubt DNG or Beevers will be here either. There's a chance that someone come in for Hone and that's your nucleus gone I'm afraid.

But that would raise the question, are the players you mentioned good enough as they haven't all shown consistently and haven't taken us out of the league.
DNG will be gone, Beevers is a good League 2 lower League 1 performer imo, and Hone needs another season probably two to see how good he can develop. He has shown potential, and shown some flaws aswell - so time will tell.
