Who's coming down, coming up and going?

With safety from relegation near enough guaranteed and the Playoffs too far away to reach, we will no begin our look at teams that could be joining us next season from League One and the Blue Square Premier, as well as who will be leaving League Two for those divisions. One thing looks certain at the minute, a lot of long trips coming down from League One.

Firstly, looking at the League Two table would indicate that although first seems to be heading to Brentford, the race for the other two spots is certainly not closed, with just five points between second placed Wycombe and Bradford in 8th. At the moment Wycombe are in the driving seat, although their form has certainly started going out of the window again, whereas Bradford can't seemingly buy a win these days.

I personally think that the three going straight up will be Brentford, Rochdale and Bury, with Wycombe, Exeter, Gillingham and Shrewsbury in the Playoffs.

Other than all the aforeentioned teams, no-one is really threatening to join the fight, although Chesterfield are just nine points behind seventh placed Shrewsbury with a whooping four games in hand. If any of the midtable teams are likely to join the Playoff race then it could be. Rotherham could also stand an outside chance as they are 18 points off the Playoffs, but again have five games in hand over Shrewsbury.

In terms of who's going down, realistically it's still Luton and another. The Hatters have ten games remaining and although not impossible, they need a MINIMUM of five wins just to catch up. If they win seven or eight of those games then they will probably stay up because of the forms of others.

The fight to see who will join them has certainly intensified with Bournemouth catching and now overtaking Grimsby and Chester. The final relegation replace will almost certainly be between those two, especially as both have played more games than most of the other teams down there. I'd personally bet on Chester to go down.

If the League One drop zone stayed as it is at the moment then the Imps will face extremely long trips to Swindon, Brighton, Hereford and Cheltenham. Cheltenham are virtually already down, thirteen points behind 20th placed Yeovil with eleven games to go....it isn't going to happen. The future also looks bleak for Hereford.

Brighton and Swindon both have a chance still, especially the latter after a 5-0 win over Yeovil at the weekend. Realistically it's between those three and Northampton Town, split by three points, although Northampton have a vastly superior goal difference to any of the sides below them, having the best goal difference in the entire lower half of the table.

It's hard to predict who will come down to this division other than Hereford and Cheltenham. However, Yeovil must be amongst the favourites now after their thrashing at the weekend.

The Blue Square Premiership isn't as straight forward as it appeared a few weeks back with Burton's lead down to just five points, although they do have two games in hand over Cambridge. Histon could also still be in with a shout as they have two games in hand over Burton and they go to the Purelli in April.

The top three in the division are all of last season's losing Playoff teams and they are also joined by regular promotion hunter's Stevenage. Kidderminster sit sixth and have games in hand on all above them (except Histon) and could still easily force their place, but other than that no-one really looks capable of mounting a challenge, although Wrexham have two games in hand over Stevenage and Kettering have four.
