Crewe's move into dropzone isn't good news for City

The news that Crewe Alexandra are back in the relegation zone in League One certainly can't be considered good news for the Imps. With two potential Imps targets on the fringes at Crewe, they could potentially be given a decent chance if Alexandra eventually find their way to League Two.

Crewe and Carlisle are now amongst the favourites to go down from League One after results went against them on Tuesday evening. Both Northampton and Brighton picked up points on Tuesday night to push the aforementioned clubs into the League One drop zone with both having two games to play.

However, this may not be good news for Lincoln. Despite rumours that we have already secured the signing of Elding on an unofficial basis, Crewe should be more reluctant to let him go if they do come down, mainly due to Elding's decent record in this division. City are hopeful of the player becoming an Imp on a permanent basis following a loan spell which saw him earn four points for City with his goals.

With City set to receive money from the Frecklington deal, as well as a likely high tribunal amount from the club N'Guessan eventually leaves for, the Imps will have a nice amount of money to go into the transfer market with, especially if we also get a large sell on fee from a deal involving Jack Hobbs' transfer from Liverpool and Leicester.
