Brabin red-hot favourite for manager's position

Gary Brabin is now red-hot favourite for the manager's position at Sincil Bank after both he and the club revealed that they would love to work together. Brabin, a former City player, has been described as "exactly the type of manager we're interested in."

Brabin came within 90 minutes of promotion twice last season with Cambridge United, missing out on both occasions. He then left the club a few weeks later following strong disagreements with the Chairman of Cambridge United and became a highly coveted manager. Blackpool were alledgely interested before Ian Holloway was appointed.

Speaking to Radio Lincolnshire, Lincoln's City Bob Dorrian revealed he is a fan of Brabin, stating "Gary Brabin's exactly the type of manager we're interested in."

That came just hours after Brabin himself told the Lincolnshire Echo "I've always said that I would like to manage in the Football League. I only became aware the Lincoln job was available when I returned from Spain to find a couple of texts telling me that Peter had obviously left the club."

"So is it a job that appeals to me? Of course it is. It is a job that holds massive appeal because they (Lincoln) are an ambitious club and they are certainly geared up to go places."

Dorrian also revealed the club are interested in Kettering Town's Mark Cooper, but that deal appears unlikely because of the soured relationship that was developed last season after the controversial FA Cup tie.
