After months of transfer rumours, Keith got his man on loan, after 3 days on loan, he appears to have finally got Francis Green to join the Imps on a permanent basis.
4 months ago to the day, the first story about Keith being after P'borough player, Francis Green. Barry Fry said he wouldn't let Green go due to the lack of strikers at the club.
2 months ago, Keith makes an undisclosed bit believed to be in the 5 figure range after Green scores the winner for P'borough in their 1-0 friendly victory over Premiership Arsenal. Barry Fry quickly rejects the bit saying it is way below what he would even consider a starting bid.
A new twist was added a few weeks ago when Fry said he was interested in buying City defender, Ben Futcher. He insisted he would not settle for a swap deal involving Green though.
On Tuesday, Keith finally got his man although only on loan. Green played the last 20 minutes in the 2-0 win over Southend.
The clubs have now reached an agreement for the player where the initial fee will be around £25,000 (the most expensive signing since Tony Battersby) rising to a possible £50,000 if the Imps were to gain promotion. Also, if Green leaves Sincil Bank for any kind of fee, Peterborough are entitled to 25% of that fee.
