Imps travel to the Shay

Yet another cup distraction awaits the Imps in the form of the LDV. The competition is the Imps last realistic chance of silverware this season but it will be far from easy against a determind conference team.
The last cup the Imps remain in continues tomorrow night with a great chance to make it through to the Northern Semi Finals. The Imps could still face Scunthorpe or Sheffield Wednesday in furthur rounds.
TEAM NEWS FOR THE IMPS
Green and Liburd are still both out with injuries but there is excellent news for the Imps with the return of Marcus Richardson
Gary Simpson will probably rest one or two of the "better" players for Saturday's local derby at Mansfield. One player likely to feature in some capacity though is youth player, Lee Frecklington. The youngster has impressed many in the competition so far and will be looking to continue that form.
HALIFAX TOWN
After being relegated from Division 3 two seasons ago, Halifax have become a midtable conference team. Last season, they were aiming for a playoff return to Division 3 but finished 8th, 3 places and 8 points behind the last playoff spot. Since then, their average attendance has been around the 1,500 mark, even worse than Macclesfield (which is saying a lot).
Halifax contain a few ex-league players but the most recognisable to Imps fans will be ex-Imp loanee James Dudgeon
So far in this years competition, Halifax have defeated York (2-1) and Scarborough to progress to the game with the Imps. However, their league form has been a bit dodgy recently with a 7-1 hammering at Hereford a few weeks ago. Halifax have only won 10 games this season, including those 2 LDV Vans wins.
LAST TIME
The last game played between the Imps and the Shaymen was a humbling experience with the Imps going down 3-0 to the league flops at The Shay.
THE CHANCES OF AN IMPS WIN
I would normally say an Imps win due to the difference in class between the 2 sides, however, recent Imps form suggests a large room for improvement but with Richardson back, chances a first away win in nearly 2 months look better.
LAST 5 LEAGUE RESULTS AGAINST HALIFAX
HALIFAX 3 CITY 0
CITY 1 HALIFAX 2

PREDICTIONS
With the Richardson factor, I believe the Imps can finally win away again on Tuesday night with a narrow 2-1 victory.
