Scunts make PFA team but not Imps

The Imps are yet again unrepresented in the Player's Team of year despite being 5th, having one of the best defences, having the joint least defeats in the division and joint best away record. The ultimate insult however, came when 2 Scunthorpe players were announced.

Last year, many were suprised by the fact not a single Imp was named in the team of the year and it comes as an even bigger suprise this year. The Imps have already gained more points, scored more goals, lost less game and are on course to concede less goals than last season and yet we still can't get a player into the selects team.

So the Imps, 5th without a player, then Scunthorpe got 2!!!!! and they're in 21st place.

Keith Alexander wasn't exactly impressed with some selections for the team.

"It is disappointing because while it doesn't count for much in terms of getting promotion, it's nice to be recognised by your fellow professionals,"

"Gary Fletcher has scored 18 goals, Alan Marriott is one of the best keepers in the division, we have a defence that has been outstanding for two seasons and there's not a better left-sided player in Division Three than Peter Gain.

"But we are overlooked. Maybe it's because Lincoln is not in a fashionable part of the country, but we'll try to keep doing our best and see where it takes us."

The selected team was

Chris Weale (Yeovil)
Nathan Stanton (Scunthorpe)
Andrew Crosby (Oxford)
Efe Sodje (Huddersfield's thug)
Andrew Dawson (Hull)
Peter Beagrie (Scunthorpe)
Liam Lawrence (Mansfield's diving git)
Michael McIndoe (Doncaster)
Alex Russell (Torquay)
David Graham (Torquay)
Lee Trundle (Swansea)
