Bailey secures Macc switch

Defender Mark Bailey has left the Imps after rejecting the new contract. He instead opted for a very unexpected switch to Macclesfield Town who are offering double the wages the Imps were paying.

This will come as a major surprise to most fans as Macclesfield Town are perennial relegation fodder and every single season since returning to Division 3, they have struggled to stay in the Division.

The decision by Bailey was (with no disrespect to Macc) defiantly not for footballing reasons but for a man with a large family and a new baby, it comes suddenly doesn’t seem surprising that City’s lack of financial backing seems to have lost them another great player.

The sooner City are finally out of debt, the better because then, with the growing income from new fans and pulling above that dreaded £0 bank mark, can we finally start buying players to truly succeed.
