Two more players hold City to ransom

Keith Alexander has slammed two players for wanting excessive wages for moving to Sincil Bank. Craig Disley and Paul Tait were both close to moving to City until Keith knew their wage demands which totalled nearly £2,500 between them.

Mansfield's Craig Disley was judged to be the most likely player to move to Sincil Bank this summer due to the close proximity to his current home. However, Keith has revealed he refused to meet his wage demands and the midfielder quickly moved to Bristol Rovers instead.

"I could have also signed Craig Disley.

"I spoke to his representatives but he wanted £800 a week and £350 appearance money."

Ironically, Disley's new club was the location of Keith's other target, Paul Tait, however, his wages demands were even more than Disley's and Tait has since moved to Rochdale.

"I spoke to Paul Tait's agent about a move and he proceeded to tell me he wanted £1,000 a week, with £350-400 appearance money on top of that."

So, for a total of around £2,500 for only 2 players is a bit stupid to be honest and would have been almost deja vu from the Alan Buckley days as 3 players, Tony Battersby, Kingsley Black and Ian Hamilton commanded a total wage packet of an unbelieveable £5000 between them.

Fair play to Keith as we don't need people who want that much money at the club although I would have liked to have seen Disley at the club as he has been one of my favourite, non-Lincoln players in recent years.

It looks like City are going to have to go to the non-league scene yet again to buy players. One player linked is Mark Quayle who rejected the Imps this time last year in favour of a move to Scarborough. However, the striker no longer wants to play non-league and is keen to play league football and Keith is one of the favourites to secure his signature.
