Fletch is no-more

City's Gary Fletcher won't be present at all this coming season as Fletcher failed to return to pre-season training earlier this week and fans have since been told that the popular striker is no more and City will just have to do with Gary Fletcher.

Of course this was just a play on words. Fletch is still around but now goes by the name of Gary Taylor-Fletcher after his recent marriage to his girlfriend, Viv. So don't worry, the player is still with the Imps and will start the game against Shrewsbury (injury permitting).

If you take all the players out of the top scorers list from last season who are no longer in the Division then Gary would have been the 2nd highest goalscorer behind Macclesfield's Matthew Tipton. The only players above both Gary and Matthew Tipton were Leon Constantine (now moved to Peterborough), Danny Alsop and Greg Blundell (both promoted with Hull and Doncaster respectfully) and Steve McClean who has turned down the chance to join last year's suprise strugglers, Scunny on a permanent basis.

Taylor-Fletcher is now the favourite to end the season as League Two's top scorer with several betting agencies, might be worth putting £10 on.
