The Imps win City derby

City beat United in the annual Lincoln derby with a non-convincing 3-0 win and if we want to strike League 2, we'll have to do better than this. One of the few plus points was the highly impressive "debut" of new player, Peter Folkes

The first half was a very boring affair with neither side producing many oppurtunities and "rust" was evident.

The second half produced 3 well taken goals although the keeper could have better with all 3. The first was a cross into the box even though no-one other than the keeper was there but left it allowing trialist Felipe Azededo to smash the ball into the goal.

The 2nd was good work from Francis Green as he ran around a few defenders before chipping it over the keeper although he could have done better as he didn't really try to get it.

Butcher scored the 3rd goal, it came from a corner that was kicked in by Butcher after a mix up and a scamble on the line saw the ball eventually cross the line.
