Striker Martin Carruthurs has returned from Cambridge after a 1 month loan spell. Carruthurs was offered an extension to his loan after Steve Thompson was said to be very impressed with his contribution.

The 32 year old striker returns having regained his fitness after an injury lost him his first team place. Carruthurs joined at the beginning of October in an exchange deal with Dean Smith and impressed heavily on his debut. He also created a lot of oppurtunities for City but was unlucky not to score himself. He was soon injured and returned in the away game at Wycombe, he however failed to regain his first team place and joined Cambridge just over a month ago.

Although he didn't score for the U's, he did help them with a massive contribution in his 5 games there and helped them to their first win in 3 and a half months over Cheltenham last Tuesday night and also helped them beat Oxford last week. A facotr in his decision to come back to Lincoln was that his contract is up at the end of the season and his first team place at Cambridge didn't look secure now that Iwan Roberts has signed on loan.
