Cornelly signed from Ashton United just after Christmas in 2003 and impressed fans with his displays and lighting quick speed and although he failed to score, he became a firm fans favourite. However, just a week before the start of the 2003/4 season, he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in his knees. He looked set to return at the beginning of this season but the injury hadn't heeled properly and there was a small tear ruling him out until now.

The game today sees him up against a very experienced Huddersfield side who will include 8 of the 11 players who started against Lincoln in the playoff semi finals.
