The summer clearout has begun early with Adam Kerley and Michael Blackwood leaving the club via severance deals. They are the first of 17 out of contract players to be shown the door with many more expected in the next few weeks as only 7 of the remaining 15 have been offered contracts.

Kerley came through the youth system at Sincil Bank but was never realistically going to fit into Keith Alexander's plans and spent the second half of the season on loan to Spalding. Blackwood came to the Imps are Telford went into liquidation and quickly found himself in the first team until the home game against Notts County when he became injured, he lost his place to Nathan Peat who in turn lost it to Kevin Sandwith and Blackwood has only made a small handful of appearances since.

They were just 2 of 17 players out of contract this summer. 7 of the remaining 15 have been offered new contracts. The ones that are believed to be defiantly not getting a new contract are Peter Folkes, Martin Carruthurs, Ciaran Toner, Matthew Bloomer, Ritchie Hanlon and Simon Raynor,
