Gain moves to London Road

Peter Gain has left Sincil Bank for Peterborough's London Road despite Keith's claims he'd agreed to stay. Last week, Keith Alexander claimed that Gain had verbally agreed to the new contract but Gain knew nothing about this and moved to Peterborough after also rejecting Huddersfield and Boston.
Gain becomes the 5th regular first team player to leave Sincil Bank since the playoff final defeat to Southend after nearly 7 years at Sincil Bank. Gain was signed from Tottenham Hotspur in 1999 and quickly established himself in the first team and was rated as one of the best midfield players in the lower divisions. Last week, the announcement that he'd agreed to sign a new contract at City along with Alan Marriott was greeted with general satisfaction from Lincoln fans but it turns out, Gain knew nothing about the verbal agreement he'd made.
Gain's agent, Alex Leveck told the Echo, "Peter would like to stress he never verbally agreed to stay at Lincoln."
This sort of revelation is starting to unravel the mystery of what goes on at Lincoln City and Gain was yet another player to be angry about taking a wage cut to help the club out but never one getting any part of it back.
"Secondly, he feels hugely let down by Lincoln in the fact he was never recompensed after taking a pay-cut when they were in administration. He helped the club out back then, and even when they tried to amend it he was still on less money before he actually decided to take the cut. Peter said he was constantly told he was one of the best players at the club but after showing loyalty to them he never felt it was appreciated."
We here at theimps.tk wish Peter all the best of luck for the upcoming season and would like to thank him for the effort during his time at City.
