Turner trying to stop sinking ship

After being relegated after winning only 5 games last season, Stockport are looking for some stability after 2 relegations in 3 years. Stockport were simply awful last season and to be honest, that sort of form isn't going to disappear over night and although they should survive, it won't be easy.

Last Season Where do you start talking about a club's 2nd relegation in 24 months? Well firstly, only 6 wins all season shows exactly why they've been relegated to this division. The Lancashire side never stood a chance of surviving the drop after winning only 1 game in their first two months and they were effectively relegated by Christmas, it was just a matter of when.

 

They did stand a mini-chance towards the end of February when they won 2 out of 3 games, easily their best "run" of the season but just as it looked like they might make a fight of it with 11 games left, they went and lost 10 of those games.

 

 

This season? Turner has gone about trying to go straight back up by signing Tes Bramble from Southend, however, other than with Hartlepool, Turner has a terrible record as a football league manager and suffered relegation with Sheffield Wednesday before relegating Stockport last season. Although they should win more games this season, consistency will be a MAJOR problem.

 

Prediction 19th - A slight steadying of the sinking ship but surely their time in the football league can't last too many more seasons' unless something happens fast.
