Anfield welcomes Hobbs

Lincoln City youngster has officially agreed to join Liverpool and the move will be completed on August 18th. After nearly 7 months of speculation, Hobbs looks set to make every lower league player's dream of getting a chance in the Premiership and who better than the European Champions?

Hobbs suddenly burst onto the scene against Bristol Rovers in January and a lot of Lincoln fans, myself included, had never heard of the young lad before but now, he's probably the most famous 16 year old in the country due to his high profile move to the Premiership. Hobbs has officially agreed to join Liverpool on his 17th birthday and the deal is now believed to be a potential £750,000 and Liverpool have guaranteed a friendly against the Imps next summer.

Despite being a Man Utd fan, I wish Hobbs all the best at Liverpool and it'd be nice to see another product of the Lincoln youth system make it to the Premiership. The last player to manage it was Darren Huckerby who went to Newcastle United in 1996 before his travels took him to Coventry, Norwich, Nottingham Forest and Manchester City.
