Imps await LDV opponents

The Imps are anxious to find out who we will face in this year's LDV Vans Trophy first round which is drawn on Saturday. City have been drawn in the Northern Section as usual and could face one of several local teams and will be desperate to improve on last year's first round exit.

Last year, the Imps crashed out 1-0 to Doncaster in the first round. 2003/4 saw the Imps reach the Quarter Finals after defeating Telford and Chester, however, Halifax beat the Imps 1-0. 2002/3 saw the Imps win a thriller against York before crashing out to Shrewsbury.

City's best run in the competition was in 2000/1 when the Imps made it all the way to the Northern Final. City had beaten Morecambe, Hartlepool, Blackpool and Chesterfield before crashing out with a 2-0 defeat on aggregate to Port Vale.

The draw will take place on Saturday morning and here is the list of possible opponents for the Imps (none league clubs in red).
