Butcher's back

As speculated, Richard Butcher has returned to Sincil Bank on loan after a slow start to his Oldham career. Butcher has been a target of the Oldham "boo-boys" and Ronnie Moore has decided to give him a break just a few short months after leaving the Imps for the Latics.

Butcher was one of the first to leave the Imps during the summer and to be fair to him, no one could really blame him for wanting to play at a higher level. However, the move proved less successful than he would have hoped and he has become the target of obscene chants from the Oldham fans. Saturday's defeat at Barnsley proved to be the last straw as Butcher was ripped to pieces by his own fans who wanted him to get sent off. To make the situation even worse, Butcher's parents had come along to see their son play and some of the stuff said, isn't nice for anyone to hear, let alone your own parents.

Butcher has come on an initial 1 month loan from the Latics, however, he will not be allowed to play in the LDV Vans against Tranmere or in the FA Cup in November. Butcher will play 4 games during his loan is selected and uninjured.

"I went to see the manager (Moore) on Monday and asked for a loan move. There were plenty of clubs who wanted me but as soon as I heard about Lincoln's interest, I agreed without hesitation."
