Imps almost sign Man Utd duo

It has emerged that Keith Alexander made an attempt to loan in 2 Manchester United players before the loan deadline. Keith was keen on signing young and emerging striker, Guiseppe Rossi and his teammate, Kenny Cooper. City were also after Derby's Paul Peschisolido but all 3 turned City down.

If City had signed Rossi on loan, it could possibly have been the best loan move that any manager had ever secured for this club, however, the American born Italian rejected the Imps' offer of a month's loan as he aims to get a regular first team spot after featuring several times this season. His United teammate, Kenny Copper rejected the Imps as he was interesting Championship teams.

Ferguson confirmed in a interview yesterday that the Imps had made move for both.

"I only had 2 solid loan offers for players during last week, Guiseppe was wanted by Lincoln, who were also interested in Kenny Cooper, Cooper was also the target for several championship sides. We are pleased that Rossi rejected the chance to go to Lincoln as it shows his ambition to succeed at the highest level."

City were also rejected by 34 year old journey-man, Paul Peschisolido who wasn't prepared to move down 2 divisions from Derby.

Who's still convinced that Keith doesn't lack ambition.
