Only a small handful of players have represented this 3 letters, infact, only one has had a surname beginning in I. Also included is a man with a Kevin Keegan perm, some of the most unusual surnames you'll ever see and of course, where would we be without those loveable one appearance wonders.

Ipoua, Guy – A loanee who joined the Imps from Doncaster Rovers in the 2004/5 season. He was prolific for Scunthorpe but the same can defiantly not be said during his time at the Imps where, in 6 appearances, he failed to score.

 

Jack, Ross – Made 66 appearances for City between 1983 and 1985.

 

Jackson, Alan – Made just 4 appearances between 1958 and 1961.

 

Jackson, Bob – In almost 10 years between 1955 and 1964, Bob made 251 appearances for the club.

 

Jackson, Brian – Played for the Imps during the 1964/5 season and made a disappointing 10 appearances.

 

Jacques, Joe – Made 27 appearances in the 1964/5 season and also played for Darlington, Southend, Gillingham and Hartlepool.

 

James, Tony – After spells at Leicester, Hereford and Plymouth, he joined the Imps in the 1988/9 season and made 32 appearances before leaving in at the end of the 1989/90 season.

 

Jeavons, Pat – A one appearance wonder in the 1965/6 season.

 

Jeffrey, Alick – Alick (yes, it was spelt like that), made just 19 appearances between 1968 and 1970.

 

Jepson, Arthur – A former Mansfield, Port Vale and Stoke man joined the Imps in 1948 and made 60 appearances until leaving in 1950.

 

Johnson, Alan – Made 109 appearances after joining in 1993 before leaving in 1996.

 

Johnson, George – Not much better than a one appearance wonder, made 3 appearances in the 1951/2 season.

 

Johnson, Joe – Former Workington man who made 12 appearances for City in the 1952/3 season.

 

Johnson, Rob – A loanee who made 4 appearances for City in the 1983/4 season. Also played for Luton, Leicester and Barnet.

 

Johnson, Tom – Joined City just after the War and made 80 appearances before leaving in 1949.

 

Jones, Alan – Another journey man who made 25 appearances between 1977 and 1979. He also played for Huddersfield, Halifax, Chester, Bradford and Rochdale.

 

Jones, Alf – Former Leeds man who made 199 appearances for City between 1962 and 1967.

 

Jones, Gary – Another journeyman who made just 5 appearances for City between 1993 and 1996. He also played for Doncaster, Southend, Nottingham, Scunny and Hartlepool.

 

Jones, Jimmy – Played 80 times between 1951 and 1954.

 

Jones, Merfyn – After spells with Liverpool, Scunthorpe, Crewe and Chester, he became a 1 appearance wonder for the Imps in the 1963/4 season.

 

Judge, Alan – Played twice in an unsuccessful loan spell in the 1985/6 season.

 

Kabia, Jason – Made 34 appearances between 1991 and 1993.

 

Kearns, Peter – The former Plymouth and Aldershot man played 51 games for the Imps between 1967 and 1969.

 

Keates, Dean – One of the smallest players to ever play for the Imps. He joined the Imps in 2005 after spells with Walsall, Hull and Kidderminster and automatically became a fan favourite because of his willingness to get stuck in and his free kicks.

 

Keeley, Nolan – Former Scunny man who played 61 times for the Imps between 1979 and 1981.

 

Kelly, Errington – A one appearance wonder from the 1982/3 season. Also had spells at both Bristol clubs and Peterborough.

 

Kelly, Terry – Played just 9 games in the 1962/3 season.

 

Kennedy, John – John was a fans favourite and an near even present during his time with the Imps and between 1967 and 1974, he registered an impressive 278 appearances for the Imps.

 

Kerley, Adam – A highly rated youngster who only played 3 times for the Imps between 2002 and 2004.

 

Kerr, Jimmy – Made his name at Oldham and only managed 15 appearances for the Imps between 1952 and 1954.

 

Kerr, Scott – A tenacious midfielder who controversially joined the Imps in 2005 from Scarborough. His performances impressed many fans and he has established himself as a regular first team player.

 

Kerrigan, Don – Played 12 times in the 1968/9 season.

 

Key, Lance – Another loanee who failed to make an impact in his 5 games during the 1995/6 season. He has also played for Sheffield Wednesday, Oldham, Oxford, Hartlepool and Rochdale.

 

Killin, Roy – Played 10 games in the 1953/4 season.

 

Kilmore, Kevin – The man with the Keegan hairstyle joined the Imps in 1985 and he played 47 games for the Imps before leaving in 1987. He also played for Scunny, Grimsby and Rotherham.

 

Krzywicki, Dick – The chances of any player ever having the surname Krzywicki again are slim at best and the man with the difficult-to-spell surname made 65 appearances for the Imps between 1974 and 1977. He also spent time at West Brom, Huddersfield, Scunny and Northampton.

 

Kurlia, John – The journeyman made 23 appearances for City in the 1971/2 season. He also played for Northampton, Bristol City, Northampton, Southend and Colchester.
