Imps sign former Oxford star

Lincoln City today completed the signing of trialist, Jude Sterling under a wekk after he left League 2 Oxford United. The defender was told by Brian Talbot that he didn't have a future at the Kassam Stadium and after an impressive match for the reserves yesterday, Jude joined today.

Sterling impressed Keith Alexander during yesterday's 3-1 reserve victory over Doncaster Rovers and Keith made him the first signing in the transfer window and the 23 year old signed on the dotted line for the Imps at lunchtime on Thursday afternoon.

Keith Alexander was understandably delighted at signing Sterling and he told the official website,

"Jude is a young player with tremendous potential. He can play in a number of positions and after some recent departures, we needed to get the squad numbers back up. It's good to be able to do that by bringing in someone who I feel is a quality addition."

Sterling will more than likely go into the squad to face Peterborough on Saturday.
