Imps finally get a proven striker

Lincoln City have loaned in former Grimsby and Scunthorpe striker, Jamie Forrester for a month from rivals Bristol Rovers. It is the first time that Keith Alexander has loaned in a proven goalscorer at this level and given that fact, it could easily turn out to be the best loan signing in a while.

Forrester joined after being frozen out at Bristol Rovers under the management of Paul Trollope but he is no stranger to the area after playing for all 3 clubs on the Humber, Grimsby, Scunthorpe and Hull. In a career stretching back to 1991 where he started his career with French side, Auxerre, Forrester has played more than 400 games in league and cup, scoring an above average 124 goals and at just 32, he could still make the 150 mark before he retires. He has only scored twice this season, both came in 3-2 away wins at Bristol Rovers beat Rushden and Cheltenham.

Keith Alexander was pleased to get the striker in and told the official website that he hoped Forrester proved to be a decent aquasition for the next month.

"I needed to bring someone in and hopefully Jamie will come here and liven us up a bit. He's had a difficult time at Bristol Rovers recently but he's a proven goalscorer at this level and if he scores the goals that we know he's capable of then he will prove to be an excellent aquasition.

Forrester goes straight into the side to face Grimsby.
