Grimsby double bill heading for double sell out

Lincoln City being the playoffs again on Saturday could possible have the first full house in just over 7 years. City haven't filled Sincil Bank since the then competent Sunderland side visited Sincil Bank in the FA Cup 3rd round and the games at the Bank and Blundell Park are selling quickly.

The tickets for the home leg have been selling well with only a small handful of tickets remaining around the ground and it could easily turn out to be the biggest Imps' home attendance in the playoffs. 8,902 saw the Imps and Scunthorpe serve up a treat in 2002/3, Huddersfield took the advantage in front of 9,202 fans and last season, only 7,032 watched the Imps face the less than glamourous opposition as City beat Macclesfield 1-0.

Grimsby have sold their full allocation and with just over 1000 seats left in the home end, it could easily turn into the most watched game since Sunderland visited Sincil Bank in 1998/9, Sunderland were actually fairly good back then as well (no, seriously!) and beat the Imps 1-0.

The game at Blundell Park also appears to be heading for a selling out as Imps fans brought 1,200 of their initially 1,300 allocation within a few hours of going on sale and since then, Grimsby have granted the Imps more tickets and now, with the away end almost certain to sell out, the Imps will be backed by 1,900 fans who are desperate to avoid a 4th straight playoff exit.
