Cork looking to build on opening week win

Dominic Cork is anxious his side build on their opening day win over Glamorgan as Derbyshire prepare to take on Durham. They claimed 16 points from an emphatic 163-run victory. But Cork knows the performance level must be kept the same against Durham who lost by 10 wickets to Middlesex.

Cork said: "We've got a very important game coming up against Durham on Wednesday and the guys have got to be ready for it."

Meanwhile, Durham must look to bounce back from their crushing defeat inside three days against Middlesex without Simon Brown and Nicky Phillips. Pace man Brown damaged rib cartilage at the Riverside and will be replaced by Graeme Bridge at Derby. And Neil Killeen comes in for Phillips, who broke a knuckle during the 10-wicket defeat.

Director of cricket Geoff Cook said: "After a heavy defeat you always look to bounce back. It will be difficult, but that's what we will be looking to do."
