Abbey Glass Division 1

Belper Meadows 186-4 drew with Spondon 118-6

The Belper innings saw good knocks from Peter Brookes (57), Paul Bakel(37) and Dave King 41. Peter Davies made 38 in Spondon's reply, but otherwise their batting disappointed and at the close they were well short of their target. For Belper Dean Lovatt took 4-28.

Lullington Park 189-7 beat West Hallam 185 by 3 wickets

This was an even contest with West Hallam setting a challenging target thanks to Andy Bowley (38), and Campbell Ogilvie (75). There was an excellent spell from Matt Holmes who took 6-35. In the Lullington innings David Adams and Danny Green both made 30, but the match winning knock was by young Andy Goodwin who made 67.

Selston Town 89 lost to Marehay 93-1 by 9 wickets

Selston are having a miserable season and their woes continued as they were well beaten by current leaders Marehay. Chris Dunn (31) was the only batsman to offer resistance against a lively attack of Arif Mehmood (5-16) and John Grimadell (4-42). Marehay lost an early wicket but Andy Walters (42 not out) and David Buckley (43 not out) saw Marehay comfortably home withot further loss. This has been a wonderful start for Marehay's season, having played four and won four.

Shipley Hall 149-9 drew with Elvaston 190-9.

This was an important game between two challengers for the one promotion spot Elvaston set a worthy target with fine performances from Lee Archer (47), Richard Johnson (42) and Rob Kettlewell (48).For Shipley there were equally good performances from Harvinder Singh Sodhi (4-41) and Zakir Hussain (4-56). Sodhi was also prominent in Shipley's reply, scoring 59, but they were left short in the end with only one wicket left. It is worth noting the performance of wicket-keeper Lee Archer who claimed six victims, four caught and two stumped.

Stainsby Hall 96-7 beat Morton 93 by 3 wickets

This was a game where the bowlers were always on top. Paul Leatherland (3-14) and Andy Barlow (4-24) combined to dismiss Morton, and James Miller (5-35) soon got amongst the Stainby wickets before they scrambled home. Top scorer in the match was by Stainsby's new recruit Jamil Qureshi who made 30.

Staveley Welfare 123-3 beat Nutbrook 122 by 7 wickets

Nutbrook are finding runs hard to get in this Division, but they are meeting tighter attacks, as they did at Staveley where Martin Camm (4-29) and John Bullimore (4-25) combined effectively. Then John May (42) and Paul May (58) set up an easy victory.

Abbey Glass Division 2

Alfreton 134-3 beat Little Eaton 133-9 by 7 wickets

This was Little Eaton's fourth defeat in four games. They were clearly short of runs despite 48 from Tim Carlier and 45 not out from Andy Jeffery. For Alfreton Matt Lineker took 3-27 and then went on to score 45, aided by Andy Buckly who made 31.

Aston on Trent 125 lost to Duffield 173-9 by 48 runs

Duffield batted first and compiled a decent score, with the main contribution coming from Greg Roe who was 45 not out. For Aston Arfan Fazal took 3-33. In Aston's reply Masir Ali made 35 and Azher Mahmood 37, but their batting again let them down and they were all out in the 38th over well short of their target. For Duffield Hugh Nichols took 6-29 and Phil Jordan 3-28.

Brailsford 166-9 drew with Allestree 191-8

Paul Lynne was the mainstay of the Allestree innings, scoring 81, with support from Matt Sirrell (34). For Brailsford Ian Clarke took 3-32, and Andrew France set up a challenging response with 45, but they lost wickets and their challenge petred out, leaving them hanging on with one wicket left. Sirrell completed a good match, taking 3-42.

Denby 2nds 197-3 drew with Ockbrook 2nds 187-8

These are two very strong second teams, and this was a very close match. . Denby batted first and were indebted to Simon Mann (35), Ross Perry-Taylor (36), Phil Glenn (48), and Steven Payne (45 not out) Ockbrook were set on their way by Ashleigh Gough (44), and Paul Darlington (35) but just failed to keep up the momentum as wickets began to fall to Lee Atkin (4-44) and Neil Worthington (4-39). At the close there were only ten runs separating the sides.

Rolleston 128-8 drew with Mickleover 150-9

Mickleover batted first and benefited from a good knock from Ian Anderson (49) which in the end represented the difference between the sides. Good bowling from Kevin Dent (4-45) and Graham Dent (3-35), father and son, checked further progress. Rolleston's innings never kept up with the desired run-rate and they progressed slowly to the draw, with Mickleover's Chris Bolton taking 3-18.

Sandiacre Town 2nds 202-8 drew with Ticknall 166-3

The Sandiacre innings saw another cavalier innings from Steve Brown who scored 117. Zac Lucas took 3-58 for Ticknall, whose batsmen seemed untroubled in their reply, with Luke Harvey making 72 not out and James Coxon 42.However, they didn't score fast enough and ended well short with wickets in hand.

Derbyshire Building Society Division 3A

Alvaston & Boulton 2nds are a strong side as they showed in beating Darley Abbey in a game where bowlers excelled Tom Hood took 6-16 for Darley Abbey and Manjit Chauan 4-35, and for A&B Steve Ottewell took 5-26, including a hat-trick, and Mohammed Ayub 4-21.A & B's win owed much to Haq Nawaz who scored 57 and Chris Hodgetts who made 40, They won by 30 runs.

Derby Congs recorded their first win in beating Rolls Royce by 6 wickets. Chasing 149 Congs lost 4 wickets before the Baines brothers came in and were undefeated, with Mark on 51 and Steve on 48.

Spondon 2nds defeated Swarkestone off the last ball. Their total of 273-6 included 142 from Steve Baker and 53 from John Cooper. Swarkstone's Andrew Lancaster made 58, but the last word was with Spondon's bowlers, Paul O'Byrne with 5-46 and Mick Lomas with 3-46.
