The last time this journal attacked Sky TV it was slagged off by Chelski fans saying we were bitter because we had only drawn. Well last night we won so there is nothing to be bitter about. Sky even gave Vieira Man of the Match so not a lot to complain about is there?
But there is, for guess what got the slo mo replay treatment? Cole’s handball – fair enough it was controversial. The referee however waved play on, you could hardly expect Cole to pick the ball up and put the ball on the spot for a penalty. But it was a talking point, but not the only talking point.
So here is the replay Sky did not show:
"Cole was also hugely fortunate that Bennett failed to notice a handball offence spotted by everyone else in the stadium, although the Arsenal man claimed a nudge by Bellamy forced him to handle. Although the Gallowgate seethed at this injustice, Newcastle themselves were lucky that Bernard's handling of a Mathieu Flamini strike went unseen by Bennett and his linesmen." Henry Winter Telegraph.Com
"Arsenal could claim their own rough justice because after one bombardment, which required Ameobi to clear a Sol Campbell header off the line, Olivier Bernard had blocked Mathieu Flamini’s shot with his arm. All square on failed penalty appeals-"Times Online
So if Sky are not biased, and in the interest of balance why don’t they also replay the Bernard handball again and again on their sports news channel? After all they are doing it with the Cole incident. We are not asking for preferential treatment just equal treatment. They should show both.
Update
Sky's morning coverage has now changed and they are showing the Bernard incident which stopped a certain goal. But only Souness is asked about Cole handball. Cole is also interviewed about it, but Wenger not asked about either incident.
