The fanzine When Saturday Comes, known as WSC, should change its name to WSMWC, at least for Arsenal readers. This is the second weekend we have been completely out of it until the Monday.
What is more there are no more games on a Saturday until the Cup Final. Its not like a Championship race anymore, more like the snooker world championship appearing every night, all week, on TV.
Another problem is that the Arsenal publicity staff go missing for the whole weekend before a Monday match. I wonder where they go? Perhaps they have a deep shelter somewhere, whatever, the last news on the team was available on Thursday.
Well Man Us defeat of Charlton makes this the 35th must win game we have been involved in this season (excluding cup games). Indeed it is, we need two more wins and a draw to be sure of that coveted second place. Meanwhile WBA are desperate for points to survive, and a mate of mine stands to win several thousand pounds if WBA stay up. Sorry Herman we need the points, there is no way we are going to let Man U get close.
Fred Kanu’s Army
Well dear old Kanu is urging his teammates, most likely from the bench, to get in amongst us, then we will find it hard to win. And just in case that doesn’t work Kanoooo would like to make it known he has an escape clause in his contract, if the Baggies boing back down again. So that’s ok then.
WBA need 3 points to survive, so do they go all out for 3, and risk a drubbing, or try for a draw? Well we will know tomorrow.
Freddy and Henry are still out; Campbell may stay on the bench, so the main question is who will start up with Reyes? Bergkamp or VP, personally I would go for VP – he has a good record of scoring against "get in amongst them" teams north of Watford.
The whole team has had a week to prepare, so Arsene should have plenty of fit and willing players to choose from.
