V. Persie the Cheeky Chappy

I just loved the v. Persie’s penalty, it nearly broke the net. No fuss he stepped up and whacked it, Carroll had no chance. It looked like the kid does them every week.
However, I was astounded to discover that v.P had never taken a penalty in a competitive match before! He told an interviewer that he had never taken one at that level before, but when he heard Edu decline to take a place in history he volunteered straight away.
The interviewer, and me, was astounded; what made him volunteer knowing how big the responsibility was – and how small his experience? He told the interviewer he had always dreamed of scoring a vital goal in a big match against a team like United. You have to cross the line sometime he said. So in the Cup Final with 70,000 at the game, and millions watching on TV worldwide, it is as good a time as any to cross that line, or it is if you have the cheek of v. Persie.
He clearly likes living life on the edge, as long as he continues to cross lines like that, and not on the motorway, I see a Highbury legend in the making, a real character.
