Breaking News Cole's Agent Charged

Breaking news - Ashley Cole's agent, Jonathan Barnett, has been charged by the FA with being in breach of several of its rules in relation to the tapping up saga involving Chelsea last year. The FA state:

“Mr Barnett has been charged by the FA with a breach of FA rule E1(e) which covers breaches of the rules of leagues affiliated to the FA,” read a statement from the FA.

“It is alleged that he brought about a breach by Ashley Cole of Premier League rule K5 which relates to illegal approaches to clubs by players under contract.

“He has also been charged with a breach of the FIFA players’ agents code of conduct, which require agents to respect the rights of third parties, in this case Arsenal FC.”

Barnett has until April 20 to respond to the charge.

Sure this needs dealing with, but having left it so long couldn't it wait a bit longer?
