Just in case you don't already know (with all the badgering performed by Louise Wilson and Andrea Corah, I somehow doubt that) a charity auction in aid of the Coventry Telegraph/ Mercia FM Snowball appeal is taking place on Friday 23rd February 2007 at Butts Park Arena

Just in case you don't already know (with all the badgering performed by Louise Wilson and Andrea Corah, I somehow doubt that) a charity auction in aid of the Coventry Telegraph/ Mercia FM Snowball appeal is taking place on Friday 23rd February 2007. The venue – the Centurions' suite, at the Butts Park Arena, Butts Road - has been very kindly provided by Coventry Rugby Football Club.

The doors open at 7pm, with proceedings kicking-off at 7:30pm.

The Snowball Appeal is a registered charity set up by Mercia FM and The Coventry Telegraph. It raises money. supported by various ventures. and then distributes the funds where they're needed. This ensures help to support smaller local charities, organisations and needy individuals.T-Shirt Front

The auction was dreamed up by Andrea and Louise, both supporters of the Coventry Rugby Club, and the whole thing has been wonderfully supported by many other supporters, ex-players, local businesses, and even many other clubs, particularly in National Division 1.

'Lots' – at the time of writing, there are fifty - range from a signed England shirt, and balls and signed shirts and other items from many clubs. There are also other England rugby items, including a signed photo of Martin Johnson lifting the World Cup four years ago.

The Coventry club has donated a box in the East Stand, and some of the players have even agreed to be auctioned off - but only to provide specified services we're afraid!.

For those less interested in rugby, we also have a year's free membership kindly donated by Coventry Sports Foundation that can be used in the Alan Higgs Centre, the AT7 Centre & the Midlands Sports Centre.

There will also be meals with wine donated, along with massages & facial treatments for the rugby widows among you!! Baby sitting & dog walking is also on offer. There's even a mini cruise!

Even the Sky Blues have joined in, and are providing a poster signed by the players, and a signed shirt.

And there's much more. For a preview, go to our forum at http://www.getphpbb.com/phpbb/index.php?mforum=ovalsnowball where you can browse photos of many of the the auction lots (more pics to follow), and even register an initial bid for anything that takes your fancy! Registering as a bidder is easy, and only takes a minute or two.

The Bid Forum has been designed for those that are unable to make it to the event, and your bids will be carried forward on the night. If you are the highest bidder you win the item!

As this auction is for a very worthy cause we ask that you take your bid postings seriously. In order that we may verify that your bid is genuine, once you have registered as a user/bidder on the forum, please email your user name, name, address and contact number to OvalSnowball@aol.com.

If you are desperate to win an item we can offer a telephone bidding service on the night. Please email and inform us if you'd like to do this.

If you come along on the night, you’ll hear the loudest auctioneer in the land (we may not even have to give him a microphone).

Entry on the door is £1.00 per person, including an auction program; and the bar will be open. For more information, contact Louise and Andrea on Ovalsnowball@aol.com

Hope to see you all there.
