Gillander gets England call-up

Coventry second row Greg Gillanders is included in the match squad of 22 for England Under-20s who open their against Wales at Gloucester on Friday (7.45pm). On a season-long loan from Leicester, Gillanders has made 19 appearances for Cov this season, scoring two tries, as well as playing A League rugby for Tigers.
The game is the first of a full 6 Nations programme for England and part of their build-up to the IRB Junior World Championships in June.
Fifteen of the players took part in the Under-19 World Championships last season, where the England side was led by London Wasps No.8 Hugo Ellis.
"As a group they've put in a lot of effort so far this season and we're pleased with the upbeat and enthusiastic attitude they have," said coach Nigel Redman. "They've been an exciting bunch to work with."
"A real positive for us is that a lot of these young players have been playing regularly in Premiership sides, in the A League and for National League clubs which has helped them make excellent progress."
England's build-up included a training camp in Portugal last month and they continued their work at the University of Bath last week before reducing the squad from 32.
* COVENTRY expect both player-coach Brett Davey (broken finger) and hooker Chris Whitehead (broken nose) to be fit for Saturday's National Trophy tie at Exeter after picking up injuries against Bedford last week.
"It's an old injury I've had before and it will be okay with rehab this week and exercise," said Davey.
"Chris has had his nose put back in place and although it is a bit swollen, he should also be fine."
