Hodge haul puts Cov in control

Skipper Danny Hodge led from the front as Coventry Develop-ment completed a season's double over their Nottingham counterparts with a 78-12 victory at the Butts Park Arena. Playing in the second row, Hodge scored two of his side's 12 tries and was at the heart of an excellent all-round team dis-play.
Returning from a four-month injury break, centre Ronnie McLean scored and converted twice in the opening 14 minutes - the second on the end of a pinpoint crossfield kick from flyhalf Ben Hewitt - before hooker Ricky Whitehall crossed in support of Hodge.
McLean again converted for a 21-0 lead at the end of the first quarter, and Cov's advantage stretched to 33-5 by the break with further tries from Hodge and winger Gareth Beynon, one converted by McLean.
Hodge opened the second-half scoring six minutes after the restart and was followed over the line by Hewitt, replacement Donovan Sanders (2), Myles Dorrian (2) and finally replacement winger Terrence Kuva-vega. McLean (4) and Hewitt added conversions.
D Hodge has to start especially if the moseley photographer is about again!
Oh and who the heck is winger Terrence Kuva-vega
I managed to have a chat with Brett Davey who felt Saturday was a step in the right direction. It is always interesting to hear the coaches version of events.
By way of balance I note a number of the reports bemoaning our lineout on Saturday and true we did lose a few but we won more of theirs than they did of ours - it's just that two of theirs lead to tries!
