Thumbs down for luckless Kirisome

Luckless Coventry three-quarter Logon Kirisome is out for the rest of the season after breaking his right thumb for the second time The Samoan went off after 69 minutes in Saturday's 29-10 win over Plymouth Albion - only his second game back after suffering the same injury at Cornish Pirates on December 30.
"Logon will be having an operation to have the thumb pinned," said coach Dave Addleton. "It's just very unlucky, eveything had healed from the first time, and a real shame for him as he had come back strongly and was playing very well on Saturday."
Full-back Ben Toft will learn more about the extent of a knee injury today but has definitely suffered ligament damage.
Added Addleton: "We don't know if it's a tear or a pull, but the worst scenario is that Ben could also be out for the rest of the season."
Brighter news in the backs is that skipper Ben Russell, who picked up a back injury at Rotherham a month ago, is running again and hopes to be fit for Cov's next game at Launceton a week on Saturday, while George Dixon - out since November 10 - is also aiming to be back for the trip to Cornwall.
He was using his power as he should and was awesome in the tackle.
What a shame for him. I hope he comes back bigger and better after his time off.
