Bears building up

Carvell Coventry Bears continue their build-up to the new league season at Northampton University on Sunday when they take on the Gremlin Allstars in their annual Mud Bowl clash. Head coach Ty Watson has named a strong squad as the Bears bid to repeat last year's narrow win against a Northampton side which will include their own summer team-mate, Tim Stevens.

Scottish International hopeful Scott Clendenning-Fenton and Irish international Alan Robinson both return for Coventry along with Poland team captain Tom Shaw, Ryan Jenkins, Phil Malloy and Luke Montague, and there will be debuts for impressive new centre Ben Massivo and Mark Challik from Poland.

Kick-off at Northampton University Arena is at 3.30pm.

Coventry Bears: Tipton, Tanaka, Massivo, Malloy, Parker, Healy, Clendenning-Fenton, Nicholls, Brown, Robinson, A Jarvis, Farnden, Allsopp. Interchange: Jenkins, Challik, Lee, Watson, L Jarvis, M Shaw, Montague, T Shaw.
