Mark Woodrow linked with Pertemps Bees return

FORMER Pertemps Bees favourite Mark Woodrow could be on his way back to Sharmans Cross Road from National One club Doncaster. The 27-year-old fly-half has been told by Doncaster's director of rugby Lynn Howells that he will not be offered a new contract when his existing deal runs out at the end of the month.

Woodrow is now in talks with the Bees about a possible return to Sharmans Cross Road and he is expected to decide on his future by the end of the week.

It is not believed that possible relegation to National Two will be a factor in Woodrow's final decision. He is looking to move to a club closer to his Bristol home and has been attracted by the reputation of the Bees' new director of rugby Allan Lewis as an outstanding backs coach.

"I'm weighing up a few things at the moment but the Bees have been in touch with me and they are one of my options," Woodrow said. "I hope to make a decision in the next week or so."

Woodrow was the Bees' hero when they produced the biggest cup upset in the professional era when they ousted Wasps from the Powergen Cup quarter-finals four years ago.

Woodrow played the game of his life that day, kicking 18 points and making national headlines.

But he left Sharmans Cross Road midway through the following season after losing his first team place to Australian Tim Walsh.

Tom

You must be reading my mind. Ten minutes ago I sent a message to sport network asking them the same thing. I will get back to everyone once I get a reply.
