Nuns want to end with a flourish

COACH Mike Umaga hopes to select from strength for Nuneaton's final home game of the National Division Two season tomorrow against promotion-chasing Stourbridge (2.30pm). Lock Ben Griffiths, who missed last weekend's trip to Southend through tonsilitis, is expected back and winger Will Cave is also in the reckoning after helping Nuneaton's colts to secure a place in their National Cup final.

Third-placed Stourbridge need to take maximum points from the game at Liberty Way to retain any hope of a top two finish, but they will find Nuns in no mood to give away favours after their 41-15 loss at Southend.

"It won't be hard for the boys to get up for the match," said Umaga. "They felt they let themselves down last week and want to make up for it.

"We had a good lead at half-time, but we were punished for two or three little inacurracies that took the game away from us. We couldn't get back, although everybody stuck at it, and we just lacked a bit of a cutting edge.

"We plan to give the fans something to go away with for the summer and if we can spoil Stourbridge's party, we will."

Nuneaton's Development XV play their Stourbridge counterparts at 1.30pm and the colts will also be in action on a full afternoon at Liberty Way.
