Barker calls on Coventry to address wet weather frailties.

LEWIS Barker believes Coventry need to become a team for all seasons if they are to address the shortcomings of the current campaign and challenge in the next.
Despite last Saturday’s reverse at home to in-form Blackheath the Butts Park outfit are finishing their National One programme as well as they started it, having just gone on a four match unbeaten run.
That equalled their best sequence of the season, when they did not lose for a month throughout September and October. But with four games remaining, the next at home to Tynedale this weekend, they are currently tenth in the table having had a bleak midwinter.
Cov won just once in November and December and scrum half Barker reckons they found the going heavy against some relatively modest opposition.
“We started very well in dry conditions, then things went against us as it got wet and teams got on top of us,” the 25-year-old admitted.
“And I don’t think it’s any coincidence that our results have picked up again.
“We are a team that likes to move the ball and in wet conditions we did struggle to put phases together and teams drilled us off the park.
“I don’t think it’s about size, you can’t get a pack much heavier or bigger than ours.
