The final Saturday of the season sees some large scores but no surprises as to results, although the nature of Coventry’s loss at Cinderford drops them down to 13th place. With only 6 points separating 9th and 13th place, the bottom half is congested to say the least.
Congratulations to Jersey for being worthy champions and before a record crowd of 3454, beat one of their closest rivals for most of their season Fylde.
2nd place goes to Ealing Tfs, who surprised many in their first ever season in this league by their brand of running rugby and tries scored. Blackheath with their late run of 11 successive victories go above Fylde into a well deserved 3rd spot and if they can keep their team together should be the team to watch next season.
Cinderford’s Rory Teague finishes the season as both top league kicker and points scorer, whilst Ealing’s Phil Chesters continues on with his try scoring feats, finishing on with an astonishing 42 tries.
Finally, we have to say goodbye to Barking, Stourbridge and Birmingham Solihull but a warm welcome to Loughborough Students, Old Albanians and either Richmond or Caldy.
