Up and Under: Luke Myring's Coventry RFC column.

WELL another season bites the dust and it has been one of mixed emotions for all of us, especially me as I have spent half of the campaign on the sidelines injured.

It was a promising start to the season and at one point we sat third in the  table but then we slipped away and ultimately it was a disappointing finish as  we only managed to finish 13th.

Last weekend away at Cinderford we certainly didn’t finish the way we would  have wanted too either and the tough thing is we now have to wait until next  season to put it right – and some of the boys unfortunately won’t get the  chance.

Maybe it was a couple of weeks too far after a long, hard season disrupted by  a vast amount of injuries throughout the squad and a constant juggling of  personnel but I know we trained and prepared to win this match as we would any  other.

Some might say it’s like any job and it’s just a colleague but it’s not true.  Rugby players develop a special bond within a squad and it’s always sad when the  season ends and guys all head off in their own direction and some off to new  clubs and opportunities elsewhere.

I would like to wish all the boys who are off to new challenges all the very  best and thank them for this year. It’s been a real pleasure and I wish all of  them all the best in the future.
