New contract for David Wainwright

Yorkshire have announced that left arm spinner David Wainwright has signed a new contract that will keep him with the county until 2010. Wainwright was sponsored by the Corridor in 2007 and made great strides during the season. He established himself as a regular in the One Day side.

The official press release from the club states:"The Yorkshire County Cricket Club is delighted to announce that David Wainwright has committed his future to the white rose. The slow-left arm bowler who enjoyed his most productive summer to date at Headingley Carnegie in 2007 has signed a contract that will take him through until the end of the 2010 season. David (22) became an ever present member of the one-day side, finishing the 2007 campaign with 17 wickets at a cost of only 21.39 runs apiece, with a man-of-the-match best bowling of 3-6 against Durham Dynamos in The Twenty20 Cup at Headingley Carnegie in June. David said, “I’m really pleased to sign a new deal with the Club. 2007 was a terrific season to be playing for Yorkshire and the work doesn’t stop now. I want to cement my place in the one-day side and work my way into Yorkshire’s LV County Championship team.” Stewart Regan added "It is always good to see a young Yorkshire player do well at the Club. David produced some tremendous performances in 2007 and this new 3-year deal is a reward for the hard work he has put in at the Club.”
