McCartney returns to the fold

The Black Cats should be boosted by George McCartney's return to training today. The left-back has missed five games with a calf injury, his last appearance coming in the 1-0 loss at Manchester City on March 22 - in which he was wrongly sent off.

Sunderland were successful in getting the red card rescinded after appealing to the Football Association, but McCartney later suffered a calf injury and has been unavailable ever since.
 
Manager Ricky Sbragia said today: "George has joined in a few warm-ups with us but we hope he will train fully today and we'll see how he does.
 
"It's taken a bit longer to resolve than we hoped, but he's getting there."

Saturday's game at Bolton will come too early for McCartney to be involved.

Sbragia has no other fresh injury concerns going into that game at Reebok Stadium.

Hopefully he won't get back into the starting lineup. He must be one of Keane's worst signings, never played well since he came back and missed most of the season through injury.

Waste of £5 million!

He was,nt much cop when we sold him to West Ham, why we payed 5 million to bring him back is beyond me. His work rate is poor and his passing game is rubbish not good enough for the premier league and would struggle in a top championship side. ANOTHER KEANE WAST OF MONEY.

Yep, another one of Keane's@#$%&signings.

£80 million and we're still fighting relegation and have pretty much nothing to show for it.
