As Barmy Kev's Mother in law from Jamaica receives build up as Weekes in same class as Sir Gary Sobers and witnesses the Weekes Middx legend flag, our hero fails to live up to the reputation. Neither does the whole Middx team.

Here's some pictorial evidence of the emotions of following Middx away and effects on Barmy Kev’s extended holiday

Early Start for Turkey's

The Turkeys arrive early to ground to pitch our new Legends flags.  Little did they know this would be highlight of day and watching view behind would have been more satisfying than events on pitch.

Not a Sobers start as Middlesex flag

This headline does not refer to contents of my glass after 2nd over. The build up comparing Weekes as legend as per Sobers. fraid not. Faced 7 balls he only hit two. 1 edge for single to 3rd man, other to wicketkeeper.  I reflect on my mis-judgement as do the Turkeys and my family.  Anyone dare to suggest a cartoon caption?

Twinkle Toes send us on a Merry dance

Superstar Gough hangs up his dancing shoes to destroy us with bat and ball. 3 for 16 from 7 overs and 53 not out from 48 balls. This on day he writes in tabloid that he modestly thinks he is still best 1 day bowler in England and should be picked for World Cup. Ironically, it was also a day where England seamers were struggling at Headingley. He was generous in signing autographs, perhaps he thought these were Central Contracts.  (uploaded as Darren Gough)

Barmy Kev takes defeat badly

The performance was woeful in every respect.  Legend let us down, bad shots, bad running between wickets, woeful bowling, 29 extras, clumsy fielding. We’re doomed, we’re doomed I can’t take it anymore.

Barmy Kev is locked up

OK so I didn’t jump and more surprising wasn’t pushed.  So I fly off in a confined area to reflect

.

Ed Smith where are you?

I’ve calmed down so I decide to take solace with Ed the Duck.

Show me the Way to go Home

Time for my extended family to take me home.  Please read my shirt for directions.
