Some Suggestions - Open Letter from Janet to MCCC

Some Suggestions?

1)       Middlesex have not won a major trophy since 1993 (most supporters DO NOT count the Tote league II in 2004)

2)       Committee seems intent on staying in the black rather than bringing success to a once great club (Kent ‘bought’ themselves out of trouble a few years ago when they signed Muralitharan so why can’t we)

3)       It is probably too late for this year, but please can we have 1^st rate overseas players next year (i.e.: Not Louw but someone of the calibre of Brett Lee)

4)       To finance getting the BEST players most supporters wouldn’t mind a ‘hike’ in fees to pay the salary of such players

5)       Committee do not seem bothered about predicament and this permeates down to players whose body language says it all

6)       Bring in Mike Brearley and his Applied Psychology now

7)       Every other county has a fast bowling coach. We obviously need one as Wright and Whelan should be able to make up the 3^rd seamer place in the 1^st XI so that senior bowlers can be rotated and rested. The fact that Whelan is injured in the same place as last year makes me wonder if he is doing something wrong, also the growing injury list to seamers seems like something is wrong somewhere

8)       We seem to have lost the team spirit and working together ethic. What can be done to get it back?

9)       If something is not done soon, we will lose our better players to a club that has the right ethos

10)   Why can’t we find a match winning  overseas player (much as Ashley Noffke the first time he was with us)

11)   Why can’t we send Wright and/or Whelan to the same academy as Hants sends Tomlinson in the winter (Alderman’s academy in Perth). I think Steven Finn would probably benefit also. If we can’t use Alderman’s Academy maybe we could send those three to another seam academy
